Funeral services for Sylvia “Ann” Shiers, 78, of Archibald, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 30, 2025 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment was in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Sylvia “Ann” Shiers was born February 1, 1947 in Vicksburg, MS and passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in Archibald, LA.

She was a cherished wife, mother, and friend. Ann loved basketball, softball, and drag racing. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thaddous “Thad” Shiers, Jr.; son, Mark Shiers; parents, Beatrice Huff Berg and Neville Smith; sister, Janice Collie; and brothers, John Vinzant, Jerry Vinzant, and Charles Berg.

Survivors include her son, Michael Shiers and wife, Tracy; daughter-in-law, Melinda Hendrix Shiers; grandson Eli Shiers; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members and her racing family.

The family would like to say a special thank you to: Sharon “Lanie” Gibson, Tina Porter, Martha Parker, and Anita McMurry for taking such wonderful care of Ann. Martha Smith, Janet Ashlock, and all of the staff at Premier Hospice.

Pallbearers were Keith Lewis, Jerry Cupp, Bob Archibald, Colby Spence, Jeff Burgess, and Will Dear.
