Stella Louise Absher

Funeral services for Stella Louise Absher, 79, of Lufkin, TX were held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Bro. Bryan Lipscomb, and Bro. Richard Robinson officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mrs. Absher was born October 20, 1943 in Essex, MO and passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 in Lufkin, TX.

Mrs. Stella loved Jesus, her family, reading her Bible, working puzzles, and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles “Bud” Absher; parents, Thomas and Estelle Gromer; brothers, A.D. Gromer and Larry Gromer; and sisters, Naomi Reaves, Bea Pullum, and Mary Jo Kinder.

Survivors include her children, Mark Absher and wife, Nancy of Holly Ridge, Regina Lipscomb and husband, Bryan of Lufkin, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Absher, Joshua Absher and wife, Miranda, Savannah Lipscomb, Breanna Lipscomb, and Matthew Lipscomb; great grandchild, Isabel Wood; brother, John Gromer; sister, Dorthy Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Joshua Absher, Matthew Lipscomb, Phillip Hendrix, Keith Holley, Dee Winstead, and Donnie Williams.

The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice for their care of Mrs. Absher.
