A celebration of life for Mr. Stanley Paul Groan, 72, of Start, LA was held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Abundant Life Full Gospel Fellowship, Start, LA with Sister Shirley Davidson and Bro. Stanton Groan officiating. Interment was in the Start Cemetery, Start, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mr. Stanley was born January 12, 1952 in Huntingburg, IN and passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024 in Rayville, LA. Stanley’s first love and devotion was to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ alongside his wife and partner, Dianne Allen Groan of 45 years. They were both founding members of Abundant Life Full Gospel Fellowship in Start, LA where they both attended.
Stanley was a kind and humble man who found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life like gardening, spending time with family and friends, and traveling around the country with his band of pipeline brothers. He worked for Richland Parish as a heavy equipment operator before beginning his career as a pipeline dozer operator for Local 406.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Groan and mother, Joyce Ann Groan.
Stanley leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Kelly Faith Groan and Jennifer Hope Groan; grandchildren, Tyler Groan and wife, Madison, Destiny Hope Morehead, Cameron Morehead, Jacob Morehead, Kimberly Morehead, and Adriane Crum; great grandchildren, Kaytlin Groan, Laityn Groan, and Slater Horrell; father, Sheldon Paul Groan; and siblings, Stanton Groan and wife, Susan, Sharon McClain and husband, Jerry, Mike Groan and wife, Leslie, and Danny Groan.
Pallbearers were Tyler Groan, Cameron Morehead, Jacob Morehead, Mike Groan, Clinton Ray Berry, and Stanton Groan.
