Sherman "Blue" Townsend, Jr.

Funeral service for Sherman "Blue" Townsend, Jr. 93, of Oak Grove, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Unity Baptist Church, Oak Grove, LA. with Bro. Jeff Sykes officiating. Interment will be in New Forest Cemetery, Forest, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, in Oak Grove, LA.

Mr. Sherman was born January 13, 1927 in Old Floyd, LA and passed away July 30, 2020 in Oak Grove, LA. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Oak Grove, LA. Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his wife Norma Lois Dye Townsend; parents, Laura and Sherman Townsend, Sr.

Survivors include his children, Jerrel R. Townsend and wife, Debbie, Rodger D. Townsend and wife, Judy Ann, Richard C. Townsend and wife, Judy Gail, Angela M. Abernathy and husband, Chester, Cathy M. Paul, L. Michelle Keller and husband, Mike, and Courtney L. Townsend and wife, Misty; 15-grandchildren; 16-great grandchildren; 6-great-great grandchildren; sister, Claudette Griffis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Shorty McLemore, Mike Keller, Mike Henderson, Aubrey keller, Shane McCurdy, and Scott Garrett.

Visitation will be Friday, July 31, 2020 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the church.
