Funeral services for Shelby Silk, 87, of Rayville, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 30, 2023 at West New Home Baptist Church, Rayville, LA with Bro. Alvin Stowe and Bro. Nathan Stanley officiating. Interment was in the Shanks Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Shelby was born December 22, 1936 in and passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 in Rayville, LA.

Mr. Shelby was a veteran with the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albion Davis and Birtie Hopkins Silk; brothers, Thomas Silk, Norman Silk, Jimmy Silk, Albion Davis Silk, Jr., Melvin Silk, and Richard Silk; and sisters, Betty Lee Silk, Virginia McAlister, and Mary Ann Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Emma Jean Silk; children, Gregory Scott Silk, Stephen Silk and wife, Patricia, and Kimberly Silk Willis and husband, Gabriel Ray; grandchildren, Dustin Silk and wife, Mandy, Heather Thomas and husband, Daniel, Megan Medlin and husband, Nathan, Ashley Erin Silk, and Bryant Scott Silk and wife, Taylor; 11-great grandchildren; sister, Betty C. McCowin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Dustin Silk, Gab Willis, Bryant Silk, Karl Ray Payne, Scott Payne, and Eddie Wayne Franks.
