Shelby Earl Barr

Memorial services for Shelby Earl Barr, 81, of Rayville, LA were held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Boeuf River Baptist Church, Rayville, LA with Bro. John Cleveland officiating.

Mr. Shelby was born December 3, 1940 in Bastrop, LA and passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in Rayville, LA. He worked as a truck driver for Delhi Boat Company and as Maintenance Supervisor for Colonial Manor Guest Home in Rayville, LA and retired from Colonial Manor in 2006.  Shelby enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting. He occupied his time after retirement with his pecan cracking business in which he enjoyed providing service to his many pecan growing friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David Earl Barr and Alma Freeland Barr.

Survivors include his brother, William Thomas Barr and wife, Kathy of Choudrant, LA; sisters, Barbara Barr Nunnally of Houma, LA; Debbie Barr Meeks of Gilmer, TX; son, David Allen Barr of Calhoun, LA; grandchildren, Deborah Ann Barr; Amber Michelle Barr; and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Boeuf River Baptist Church in Shelby’s memory.
