Robert Louis “R.L.” Cotton, Jr

Funeral services for Robert Louis “R. L.” Cotton, Jr, 71, of Georgetown, TX were held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 10, 2022 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Bro. Johnny Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Start Cemetery, Start, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Cotton was born September 10, 1950 in Rayville, LA and passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2022 in Round Rock, TX.

Mr. R.L. was in the U.S. Army and a Vietnam Veteran. He spent most of his career in the oil and gas and mining industries.  Among his favorite pastimes were bass fishing, and among his favorite places to fish were Toledo Bend Lake, the Atchafalaya Basin, and Lake Houston. He traveled the globe and enjoyed meeting people everywhere he went. He is preceded in death by his father, R. L. Cotton, Sr.; mother, Ruby Tanner; stepfather, J. C. Tanner.

Survivors include his sons, Spencer Lee, Robert L Cotton, III; daughters, Emily Charlotte Cotton, Jennifer Scott and husband, Nathaniel; grandchildren, Robbie Cotton, Walter Scott, Alice Scott; sister, Patricia Knox; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jason Hunt, R.L. Cotton, III, and Walter Scott.
