Funeral services for Pete Mulhern, Jr., 81, of Rayville, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Rayville Methodist Church, Rayville, LA with Bro. Darryl Tate and Bro. Aaron Carpenter officiating. Interment was in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mr. Pete was born August 26, 1941 in Rayville, LA and passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 in Bastrop, LA with complications from Parkinson Disease.
Mr. Pete graduated from Rayville High School and Northeast Louisiana University with an agricultural business degree. He was owner and operator of Planters Seed and Supply and farmed for many years. He was a board member of First Republic Bank in Rayville, the past president of Riverfield Academy Board of Directors, also the Chair of the Church Council for Rayville United Methodist Church, and a member of numerous other farm boards. Mr. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Pete Mulhern, Sr.; son, Frank Mulhern; and mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davidson.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Davidson Mulhern of Rayville, LA; sons, John Mulhern and wife, Laura of Rayville, LA and Justin Mulhern of Rayville, LA; grandchildren, Lauren Mulhern, Cole Mulhern, James Mulhern, Mary Frances Mulhern, and Matthew Mulhern all of Rayville, LA; siblings, Patrick Mulhern and wife, Itzel of La Porte, TX and Pam Mulhern Alexander and husband, Earl of Lake Charles, LA; brother-in-law, Jack Davidson and wife, Faye of Waynesboro, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Cole Mulhern, James Mulhern, Matthew Mulhern, Jim Alexander, Rhett Gable, and Charlie Morgan. Honorary pallbearers were Kelly Evans, Gene Dewitt, Jackie Fuller, Jim Adams, and Doyle Hammons.
