Onnie Mae Easterling

Funeral service for Onnie Mae Easterling, age 91, of Lake Providence, LA will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home Chapel, in Oak Grove, LA. with Bro. Mike Ray officiating. Interment will follow to the New Forest Cemetery in Forest, LA. under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home in Oak Grove, LA.  

Onnie Mae Easterling was born in Mendenhall, MS on September 18, 1927 and went home to Jesus on May 16, 2019. She passed away peacefully at her residence in Oak Grove, LA.

Onnie Mae was called "Granny" by all who knew and loved her. Granny loved flowers and enjoyed planting and tending to the flower beds at her  Lake Providence home for over 40 years. Granny was a wonderful cook and made the very best biscuits in the world. She had a warm smile, a sweet voice and a hug for everyone. She was a woman of God who kept everyone in her daily prayers. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.

She was preceeded in death by her mother, Arabelle Bass Yates; father, James Madison Yates; her son, Shelby Gene Easterling; her husband Ervin Easterling; her grandsons, Michael Lee Perry and John Shelby Easterling; and many beloved sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Easterling Perry; son-in-law, Richard Perry; her brother, Bernice Yates; daughter-in-law, Shelia Easterling Kirby; her grandchildren, Michelle Perry, Judith Perry, Jeanie Easterling, and Jeremy Easterling; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Armfield, Abigail Armfield, Skylar Carr, Madison Roynon, and Chandler Easterling; her great-great granddaughter, Shelbie Rose Armfield; and many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Pallbearers are Tyler Armfield, Randy Willis, Chandler Easterling, Tim Bankston, Johnny Dukes, and Jacob Aulds.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 4:30,PM to 8:00,PM at Brown-Holley.
