Nanny Gwen Chastun

Funeral services for Nanny Gwen Chastun, 87, of Oak Grove, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Oak Grove, LA with Pastor Debbie Cummings officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, in Oak Grove, LA.

Gwen was born on July 30, 1938, in Houston, TX and passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at home in Oak Grove, LA. She attended the Upper Room and blessed many with her greeting card ministry.

Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Chastun; son, James G. Isaacks; parents, Doris and Alva Alexander, Sr.; brother, Alva Alexander, Jr. and his wife, Fay.  

Survivors include her children, Patricia Isaacks of Fiske Union, LA, James Henry Chastun (Gail) of Spring, TX, Frank Chastun and Donna of Lufkin, TX, Deborah Isaacks of Oak Grove, LA, John Eric Chastun, Sr. (Elizabeth) of Oak Grove, LA, and Teresa Jane Williams (Scotty) of Oak Grove, LA; special friend, Linda Follis of Oak Grove, LA; special granddaughter, Rory Analise Smith; 17-grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Robert Tubbs, Allen Tubbs, Colton Dickson, John Chastun, Shawn Chastun, Justin Chastun, Matthew Chastun, and Allen Williams.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Chastun, Jarod Chastun, Ronnie Smith, Nicholas Tubbs, Nate Tubbs and Christian Tubbs.

Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Oak Grove, LA.
