Funeral services for Marvin G. Rieger, Sr., 80, of Mangham, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Mangham Baptist Church, Mangham, LA with Bro. Rick Aultman officiating. Interment was in the Lynn Cemetery, Archibald, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mr. Marvin was born December 2, 1944 in Archibald, LA and passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in Monroe, LA.
Marvin was a preacher for 53 years and led hundreds of people to the Lord. He was beloved by everyone and was known for his “picking and joking”. He had a love of his family and was proud of all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved planting and tending to his garden, sitting on the porch drinking his coffee and visiting with family and friends. His greatest love was the Lord and also his “Little Fat Woman” Doris, who he loved beyond measure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonie and John Rieger, Sr.; sisters, Evelyn Long, Marie “Tincy” Meeks, and Vada Wilkerson; fraternal twin, Darvin Rieger; and grandson, Shane Rieger.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Doris Rieger; children, Lynette Adams and husband, Kenny, Marvin “Bubba” Rieger and wife, Angel, Lisa Smith and husband, Tracy, Todd Rieger and wife, Chasity, and Tracy Rieger; 15-grandchildren and 22-great grandchildren; and siblings, John Paul Rieger, Jr. and wife, Loudell, Jane Bryan, and Dale Rieger.
Pallbearers were Brian Rieger, J.D. Rieger, Trey Smith, T.J. Rieger, Matthew Rieger, Corey Rieger, Zach Rieger, and Jake Massey.
