Funeral services for Mark Allen Shiers, 51, of Mangham, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at the Alto Baptist Church, Alto, LA with Dr. Alan Miller and Mr. Trey Albritton officiating. Interment was in the Gwin Cemetery, Mangham, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mark was born November 22, 1971 in Jackson, MS and passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 in Mangham, LA.

Mark was a member of the Alto Baptist Church, Warhawk Harley Owners Group Chapter, and also the United Steel Workers Union. His hobbies include Drag Racing and motorcycle riding and he enjoyed shooting pool. He was also a past member of NHRA. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Thaddous “Thad” Otto Shiers, Jr.; father-in-law, Thomas Hendrix, Sr.; and maternal grandmother, Beatrice Berg.

Survivors include his wife, Melinda Hendrix Shiers of Mangham, LA; mother, Sylvia Ann Shiers of Archibald, LA; brother, Michael Shiers and wife, Tracy of Start, LA; nephew, Eli Shiers of Start, LA; mother-in-law, Joan Ann Hendrix of Mangham, LA; brother-in-law, Tom Hendrix, Jr. and wife, Rhonda of Alto, LA; and niece, Dina Mayhall.

Pallbearers were Keith Adams, Jim Whitman, Bobby White, Bryan Nobles, Kevin Henry, and Justin Allbritton. Honorary pallbearers were his Drag Racing Family and Friends.
