Funeral services for Mae Hillis, 88, of Monroe, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Rev. John Hillis officiating. Interment was in the Start Cemetery, Start, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mrs. Mae was born July 3, 1935 and passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 in Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Fannie Fields; husband, Russell Hillis; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Rev. John Hillis and wife Lavenia and Jerry Hillis and wife, Leslie; grandchildren, Michelle Hillis, Cole McNeil, Justin Hillis, and Joseph Hillis; great grandchildren, Karly Hunt, Lucas Hunt, and Izzy Hunt; siblings, Buddy Fields, Billy Fields, Sandra Schiele, and Betty Tee; and special friend, Della Wilson.

Pallbearers were Jerry Hillis, Lamar Hillis, Justin Hillis, Joseph Hillis, Lucas Hunt, and Cole McNeil.
