Lloyd Christopher Swain Obituary

Lloyd Christopher Swain, of Oak Ridge, Louisiana, known to family and friends as “Chris”, “Poppa Chris”, or “Wildcard”, unexpectedly passed on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at the age of 50.

Chris was a graduate of Rayville High School, a veteran of the United States army, a pristine truck driver of 8 years for Evergreen Industries, a dedicated member of The Central Church of Christ, but most of all a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend to so many.

Chris wasn’t a complicated man by far. When he wasn’t working, he loved to hunt, fish, play billiards, and spend time with his family and friends. He cherished his friends as much as he did his family and would do anything for them. Chris was the epitome of a family man. He was very well known for being a great father to not only his own children but to many children that God placed along his path. Chris is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Swain.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 15 years, Monica Sue Swain “Suzy”, who was his best friend and caregiver; father, Lloyd Swain; daughters, Kim Swain Cullum, Bridgette Brown, Sierra Brown, Skye Brown, and Emilee Martinez; sisters, Rhonda and husband, Randal Crews, Kelly and husband, Will Cook; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Gibson, Rebecca and husband, David Hamm, Bridgette Crews, and Kyle and Eryn Cook; grandchildren, Braylee and Sylas; 5-great nieces and 7-great nephews.

Pallbearers were Tommy Haire, Brian Heisler, Joe Carter, Jeff Swain, Randy Swain, and Joe Swain.

Honorary pallbearers were Justin Brazzell, Jamie Marble, Dj Smead, Buster Guice, Jason Bell, Chris Heisler, Dylan Phillips, Jared Gates, Micah Antley, Bob Martin, and Jacob Black.

Funeral services for Lloyd Christopher Swain were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 21, 2020 with Bro. Casey Clement officiating. Interment will follow in the Stevenson Cemetery, Rayville, LA.
