Lizzie Lucille Peoples

Funeral services for Lizzie Lucille Peoples, 95, of Oak Grove, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February, 22, 2023 at Unity Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Garrett and Bro. Tom Rogers officiating. Interment followed to Beulah Cemetery in Oak Grove, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Oak Grove. 

Lizzie Lucille Sullivan Peoples was born on August 5, 1927 in Sikes, LA to George and Alberta Sullivan. She entered the gates of Heaven on February 20, 2023 in Oak Grove, LA, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Alberta Sullivan; her husband of 51 years, Felix Peoples, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Diane Peoples; brothers, Odell and Jerry Sullivan; sisters, Bessie Higgins and Jean Bonneau; 4-brother-in-laws; 2-grandchildren; 1-great grandchild; 2-nieces; and 3-nephews. 

Lucille loved the Lord , Hunting, Fishing, growing a garden and canning the food she grew. Anyone who knew her knew she could make a “mean biscuit”! Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda Carroll (Joe) of Oak Grove, LA; her sons, Felix Peoples, Jr. (Patsy) of Monroe, LA, Wayne Peoples (Kay) of West Monroe, LA, Robert Peoples (Amy) of Oak Grove, LA, Tommy Peoples (Connie) of West Monroe, LA, and Tony Peoples (Terri) of Oak Grove, LA; 2-brothers; 3-sisters; 25-grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was loved by all who knew her, and she loved all the way she loved Jesus. 

Pallbearers were Pedro Carroll, Butch Higgins, T.J. Peoples, Andrew Moss, Dyllan Moss, and D.J. Cronley. 

Honorary pallbearers were Joe Carroll, Sr., Bro. Shorty McLemore, Bro. Tom Rogers, Jared Cotton, and her nephews.

Visitation was Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M., at the church.
