Funeral services for Lela Mae Kinney, 81 of Oak Grove, LA were held at 2:00P.M. Monday, December 18, 2023 at Unity Baptist Church, in Oak Grove, LA with Bro. Shorty McLemore and Bro. Jeff Sikes officiating. Interment followed to Beulah Cemetery, in Oak Grove, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Oak Grove, LA.

Ms. Lela was born on July 28, 1942 in Oak Grove, LA and passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Kinney; son, James Smith; son-in-law, Steve Nicholson; parents, Charles and Lola Abernathy; sister, Betty Wink; and brother, Lewis Edward Abernathy.

Survivors include her children, Belynda Nicholson, Dewayne Lewis, Vickie Jones, and Linda Garrett; grandchildren, Kelli Herrington (Nick), Christoper Smith (Laura), Rusty Nicholson, Brandon Dove (Erin), Christine Smith, Kevin Flinn (Stephanie), Bradley Nicholson (Cassidy), Wade Dove (Kelly), Destiny Jones, Lilly Jones, Billy Lewis, Chase Smith (Brooke), Jessica McDonald (Jay); great grandchildren, Maci, Mauri, Rhett, Piper, Beau, Kristopher, Kinley, Emery, Ava, Brooke, Emmy, Braxton, Aiden, Audrey, Zoe, Addi, Emma; special nephews, Chris Abernathy (Tasha) and Paul Peterson (Alyssa);  siblings, Jesse Abernathy (Brenda), Chester Abernathy, and Janie Peterson.

Pallbearers were Chris Abernathy, Paul Peterson, Christopher Smith, Rusty Nicholson, Bradley Nicholson, Chase Smith, Kevin Flinn, and Rhett Herrington . 

Honorary pallbearers were Beau Nicholson and Kristopher Smith.
