L. E. "Gene" Williams

Funeral services for L. E. “Gene” Williams, 99 of Start, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 22, 2026 at Start Baptist Church, Start, LA with Bro. Don Parker and Bro. Jeff Thomas officiating. Interment was in the Start Cemetery, Start, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Gene was born December 2, 1926 in Lewisville, AR and passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026 in Rayville, LA. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Audrey L. Williams; granddaughter, Tracy Williams; 2 – brothers and 3 – sisters.

Survivors include his sons, Larry Williams (Angie) of Hot Springs, AR and Tommy Williams (Leah “Honey”) of Start, LA; 8 - grandchildren, Michelle Ogden, Wendy Blaylock, Samantha Jones, Chris David Williams, Angie Jean Jones, Chris Michael Williams, Michael Williams, Amanda Keller; 20 - great grandchildren, 14 - great-great grandchildren, 16 – great-great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Delbert Crow, Elliot Colvin, Virgil Brentley, Daniel Powell, Garey Trisler, and John Hatton.

Honorary Pallbearers were Start Baptist Church Senior Men’s Sunday School Class, Freddy Murphy, and Tommy Mercer.
