Funeral services for Kay Nolan, 69, of Start, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, Monroe, LA with Dr. Alan Miller and Bro. David Willoughby officiating. Interment was in Start Cemetery, Start, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Kay was born November 29, 1955 in Winnsboro, LA and passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025 with her family at her residence.
Kay was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her passion was singing in the choir, especially solos. One of her highlights was singing with The Brooklyn Tabernacle choir in Brooklyn, New York. Kay retired from ULM with over 40 years of employment. Kay loved going on road trips with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Lillie “Tugar” Kline.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Sammy Nolan of Start, LA; sisters, Barbara Kirkland and husband, Neill of Ruston, LA, Dianne Lawrence and husband, Ron of Monroe, LA, and June Johnston and husband, Charles of West Monroe, LA; sisters-in-law, Sue Nolan, Sheila Nolan, and Pam Nolan all of Start, LA; special friends, LaFaye Price and Sherman Townsend; her fur babies, Dusty and Tutibell; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Jones, Dwayne Clement, Justin Wisenor, Brad Johnston, Robert Neill Kirkland, and Jon Kirkland.
Honorary pallbearers were David Wisenor, Allen Nettles, Donnie Haley, and John Miller.
