Funeral services for Kathleen “Kathy” Hicks Sanford, 79, of Rayville, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 9, 2023 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Rev. Joey Smith officiating. Interment was in the McKnight Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mrs. Kathleen was born June 15, 1944 in Holly Ridge, LA and passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 in Olla, LA.

Kathy was soft spoken, humble, and caring with a servant’s heart. She loved her family and loved Jesus. She was Granny to many and was adored by all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, it is a comfort to know that she is rejoicing in heaven.

Mrs. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Glyn Sanford; parents, Lydia and John Hicks; sisters, Jewel Magness, Nora Burns, Bernice Roberts, Ione Gilbreath, Clarris Johns, Ardithe Brown, Margie Neilsen, Mildred Hicks, Emma “Doodle” Hicks, and Zelmodene Boe; and brothers, Wesley Hicks and William Hicks.

Survivors include her children, Theresa DeCaro and husband, Robert and Gary Sanford and wife, Jorie; grandchildren, Isabella DeCaro, Gisella DeCaro, Gabriella DeCaro, Rocco DeCaro, Blake Sanford, Blair Barnhill and husband, Kyle, and Bryce Sanford; and sister, Alice Caudle; and her many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Kyle Barnhill, Bryce Sanford, Shannon Lockard, Jimbo Fuller, Edward Shoemaker, and Shelton Sanford. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Collins, Sr., Robert DeCaro, Rocco DeCaro, Wayne Caudle, and Chris Barnhill;
