Memorial services for Joe E. Comeaux, 78, of Rayville, LA were held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Rayville, LA with Bro. Charles Ellzey officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Joe was born November 30, 1941 in Crowville, LA and passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 in West Monroe, LA after a lengthy illness.

Joe served his community in various ways. He coached Dixie Youth Baseball for many years, served on the Richland Parish School Board, served as Justice of the Peace, was a High School Football referee for 30 years, refereeing the Class A State Championship Game in 1984.

Joe was a Deacon at Woodlawn Baptist Church for 50 years. He was also a Master Mason for 56 years, and past Master of R.F. McGuire Masonic Lodge #209. Mr. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Leattice Comeaux; and his brother, Harold Comeaux.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Joanne Comeaux of Rayville; children, Kay Goodman and husband, John of Dunn, Jimmy Comeaux and wife, Dana of St. Joe, and Deana Wollerson and husband, Dennis of Mangham; grandchildren, Hannah Henson and husband, Dustin of West Monroe, Carley Comeaux of St. Joe, Rachel Wollerson of Mangham, Landon Murphree of St. Joe, Evan Wollerson of Lafayette, and Taylor Goodman of Shreveport; great grandson, Greyson Henson; sisters, Willminor Grant of Archibald, Alice Carson and husband, Jr. of Crowville, and Barbara Jones of Archibald; brothers, W.C. Comeaux of Olla, Tommy Comeaux and wife Janice of West Monroe, Nolan Comeaux of Crowville, and John L. Comeaux and wife, Marilyn of Wisner.

Honorary pallbearers were Quinton Jones, Kevin Jones, William Waller, Brent Finley, Mike Thompson, Jim Smith, Deacons of Woodlawn Baptist Church, and the members of R.F. McGuire Masonic Lodge #209.
