Funeral services for Joe Lively, 79, of Rayville, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Pastor J.T. Strong officiating. Interment was in Greer Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Joe was born June 6, 1945 in Rayville, LA and passed away Friday, September 13, 2024 at his residence in Rayville, LA surrounded by many of his loved ones.

Joe attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Richland Parish Police Jury for 14 years and served as President for a time. He also worked for the Town of Rayville for many years. Joe was preceded by his parents, Buck and Hazel Lively and 10 of his siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lively of Rayville, LA; children, Joey Lively and Jodi of Rayville, LA and Tammy Pitman and husband, Shane of Rayville, LA; grandchildren, Mandy Gibson and husband, Nick of Rayville, LA, Blake Lively of Crowville, LA, Jessie Morace of Vidalia, LA, Tyler Lively and wife, Whitney of Wisner, LA, Cole Lively and wife, Ashlee of Crowville, LA, Hannah Adams of Rayville, LA, Kylie Neel and husband, Richard of Rayville, LA,  and Jada Pitman of Rayville, LA; 10-great grandchildren, Rylee, John Thomas, and Kade Gibson of Rayville, LA, Addi Grace and Mary Ella Lively of Mangham, LA, Grayson Morace of Vidalia, LA, Baya Lively of Wisner, LA, Reid and Carter Neel of Rayville, LA, Sawyer Lively of Crowville, LA; siblings, Althea Mae Bennett and Jessie Lively; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jesse “Kojack” Lively, Brad Lively, D. J. Lively, Kade Lively, Stevie Joe Young, and Gabriel Calloway.

Honorary pallbearers were Leo Lyles, Marvin Culpepper, Jeff Feracci, and Sam Simpson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following: Ashley Hale, NP, nurses Randi Hayes, Renee Jackson, and Monica Odom, Randy and Dawanna Sanders, Pilots for Patients and The Ground Angels, and to everyone who donated and contributed to all his medical and travel expenses during his treatment, and to all the doctors and nurses that attended to him during his treatment at MD Anderson.
