Funeral services for Jerry Dale Lewis, 61, of Start, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Bro. Daniel Goodman officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Jerry was born March 14, 1964 in Monroe, LA and passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at his home in Start, LA.

Jerry was affiliated with Maranatha Baptist Church. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He loved to spend time with his family especially his sons and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Bell Lewis; and sister, Vickie Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Virginia Lewis of Start, LA; sons, Christopher Leyse of Hot Springs, AR, Shawn Leyse (Jenny) of Minden, LA, and Cody Odom (Randyl) of Columbia, LA; grandchildren, Dokata, La`Mya, Aamyia, Tucker, and Ryleigh; siblings, Robert Garrett, Linda Jane Garrett, Jackie Garrett, James Lewis, and Dewayne Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime family friend, Andre` Borowski.

Pallbearers were Stevie Overstreet, Tony Overstreet, Mike Funderburk, Alvin Jones, Thomas Jones, and Kevin Graham.
