Jean (Selmon) Tarver

Graveside services for Jean Tarver, 85, of Sulphur, LA formerly of Rayville, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Bethel Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA with Bro. Roger Temple officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Jean was born November 15, 1939 in Post, TX and passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025 in Sulphur, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Huey Tarver; parents, Travis and Thelma Selmon; 2-brothers and 2-sisters.

Survivors include her children, Brenda “BJ” Greer (Jeffrey), Mark Tarver (Belinda), Juanita Gilbert (Kenneth), Douglas Tarver, and Brandon Tarver (Renea); 11-grandchildern and 8-great grandchildren; sisters, Nelda Lee and Billie Parker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Nick Greer, Zeb Greer, Mark Tarver, Brandon Tarver, Alex Gilbert, and Chance Tarver.

Honorary pallbearers were Jason Tarver, Jessica Garon, Natalie Tarver, Veronica Tarver, Maria Deville, Dillon Tarver, and Shane Tarver.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family asks that donations be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
