Funeral services for James “Matt” Madison Sanders, 89, of Oak Grove, LA will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Oak Grove, LA with Bro. Stowe Harbin officiating. Interment will follow to Concord Cemetery, Oak Grove, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, in Oak Grove, LA.

Mr. Matt was born on September 16, 1936, in Oak Grove, LA and passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Oak Grove, LA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alma Catherine Sanders; brothers, Huel Sanders and Norman Sanders; and sister, Earnestine Crawford Thompson.

 Survivors include his children, Matt Darrell Sanders of Oak Grove, LA, Alan Brett Sanders (Rebecca) of Vidor, TX, Duane Sanders (Laurie) of Tumbling Shoals, AR; grandchildren, Dusty Sanders, Jason Lynn Sanders, Melissa Sanders, Alan Dean Sanders, James Ronald Sanders, Ariel Alcantar, Alyssa Riley, Amber Webber, Ansley Sanders; 14-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Angel Alcantar, Luke Riley, Corbin Webber, Owen Phelps, James Sanders, Rod Russell.

Honorary pallbearer Chris French. 

Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Oak Grove, LA.
