Funeral services for Mr. James H. Walker, Jr., 80, of Monroe, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 23, 2024 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Bro. Braxton Humphries officiating. Interment was in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Browm-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mr. James was born May 25, 1944 in Rayville, LA and passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in Monroe, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, James H. Walker, Sr. and Annie Aline Day Walker; brother, Gilbert Walker; and sister, Vivian Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lois Walker of Monroe; children, Tammie Lorena Walker, Terri Kathleen Walker, James “Jim” Walker, III (Patricia), Joseph Wayne Hanks (Nancy); grandchildren, Isabel Hall (Christopher), Savanna Weems (Thomas), Tyler Walker, Andrew Walker, Dyland Walker, and Kaitlyn Hatch; great grandchildren, Kyanite Ward, Rylan Ward, and Joanna Weems; siblings, Annette Dupree, Glen Walker, Bertha Coward, Jack Walker, Alvin Walker, Norman Walker, Odessa Carr, Robert Walker, Everett Walker, and Dallas Walker; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and sweet Julie.
James was a devoted husband and adored his wife, “Loisie”, he was a loving father and savored life, he was passionate about music playing his favorite harmonica, singing and yodeling at the drop of hat, bringing joy to everyone who was blessed at the moment with his beautiful voice. He loved all his family and never met a stranger (everyone was his girlfriend or a brother.) He always had a smile and a joke to share. People were drawn to James like flies to honey and he never missed the opportunity to share his love for Jesus and the Lord our God with any and every one he met.
Pallbearers were James “Jim” Walker III, Tyler Walker, Andrew Walker, Zachary Randall, Wayne Hanks, and Damon Neatherland. Honorary pallbearers were Dylan Walker and Michael Neatherland.
