Graveside services for James Fred Herrington, 85, of Monroe, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA with Bro. Cecil Herrington officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mr. Fred was born May 16, 1933 in Thomaston, GA and passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 in Monroe, LA. He was associated with the Cotton Gin Industry and was a past president of the Louisiana Pecan Growers Association. His Passion in life was his pecan tree nurseries and its associated activities. He shared his knowledge with all of his fellow associates. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cameron and Ruby Herrington and his son, Pastor, James David Herrington.
Survivors include his children from his first wife, Margaret Herrington, Gary Herrington and wife, Darline, Karen Kennedy and husband, Pat, and Michael Herrington and wife, Becky; children from second wife, Mary Kitchens, Kevin Paul Herrington, Matthew Herrington, and Leslie Tisdale; 21-grandchildren, 25-great grandchildren, and 1-great-great grandchild; Fred’s brother, Charles Herrington; and daughter-in-law, Becky Herrington.
Pallbearers were William Tisdale active Air Force E-4, Robert Walton, Thomas Bryan, Matthew Sisk, and L.J. Browning.
