Mr. James was born October 1, 1951 in Rayville, LA and passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. W. and Irma Elkins; siblings, Lena Wilder, Bessie Caronne, and John Elkins, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Betty Grice Elkins; daughter, Tessa Elkins Ibarra (Jose); step-son, Sam Grice (Ben); grandchildren, Layla Ibarra; William Anderson; Ruby Ibarra Nunez (David); siblings, Juanita Saucier; Mary Ovdiyenko; Helen Cramer; Rosie Clark; numerous nieces and nephews.
