Funeral services, a celebration of Irma Pauline Cumpton Borden’s life, were held 12:30 PM, Monday, April 8, 2024 at First Assembly of God, Rayville, LA with Reverand. Joe Hooter officiating. Her final resting place wias at the Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA. She was laid to rest with her beloved husband. As we bid farewell to Irma Pauline Cumpton Borden, may her memory continue to inspire us to live lives filled with love, faith, and compassion.

Irma, born on July 18, 1936, embarked on her eternal journey on April 5, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and faith. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Claude Lavell Borden, and her parents, Tom and Ila Cumpton, sister, Hazel Miller, brothers, Jesse Cumpton, Lester Cumpton, Roy Cumpton, William Cumpton, and Gene Cumpton, Irma's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Donniel Hooter, and "the son God gave her," Donniel's husband, Joseph (Joe) Hooter. Her granddaughter, Magan Hooter McNeill, and bonus granddaughter, Audrey Bray, along with their husbands Brendan McNeill and Josh Bray respectively, were also dear to her heart. The bonus great-grandsons, Joseph and Archer, brother, Freddie Cumpton and wife, Beth, brought joy to her life alongside her grand-pup Rue and Friskie, Poppie's cat. Irma leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

Known as a mighty prayer warrior, Irma Pauline's unwavering faith guided her through life's trials, and she selflessly interceded for her loved ones. While she birthed only one child, her nurturing spirit embraced countless spiritual children of all ages, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

Irma Pauline Cumpton Borden was a devout member of New Destiny Assembly of God in Monroe, Louisiana, and previously a member of Rayville First Assembly of God where her faith flourished and her spirit found solace and community. Her dedication to her church family and her unwavering commitment to her faith enriched her life and the lives of those around her. The fellowship and spiritual guidance she received from these church communities were sources of strength and comfort throughout her journey.

In addition, the family wishes to extend a special thank you to Keera McNeill for her exceptional tenderness and compassionate care provided to Irma during the final months of her life. Keera's unwavering dedication brought comfort and solace to Irma during her time of need, and her kindness will always be remembered with deep gratitude by the family.

Furthermore, the family expresses profound gratitude to the many friends and adopted grandchildren who offered support, love, and assistance during Irma's last months. Their presence and acts of kindness provided immense comfort and strength to Irma and her family during a challenging time. Each gesture of friendship and support will forever be cherished and remembered fondly.

Pallbearers wiere Johnny Wayne Bradford, Gary Greene, Brendan McNeill, Josh Bray, Edward Avants, Albert Collins, Dabo Graves, and Danny Tull.
