Helen Carter (Weeks) Rainwater

Funeral services for Helen Carter Rainwater, 82, of Start, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Eastside Baptist Church, Rayville, LA with Bro. Johnny Smith, Bro. Chris Crawford, and Karla Wood officiating. Interment followed in the Start Cemetery, Start, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mrs. Helen was born June 21, 1937 in Start, LA and passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at her residence in Start, LA.

Mrs. Helen was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Rayville. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Eunice Weeks; and her husbands, Elbert Rogers Carter and Henry “Drip” Rainwater, Sr.; and her siblings, J.B. Weeks, J.T. Weeks, Ruth Sheppard, and Audrey Williams.

Survivors include her sons, Dale Carter of Rayville and Keith Carter of Start; stepson, Henry “Sonny” Rainwater and wife, Sheila of Start; stepdaughter, Susie Wynn and husband, Lawrence of Rayville; grandchildren, Danielle Masters and husband, David, Brittany Peterson and husband, Joe Earl, Laura Carter, Emily Carter and husband, Zack, Austin Carter, and Melinda Lynn; great grandchildren, Jamison Hatfield, Emma Masters, Lily Mae Peterson, Gage Peterson, Daniel Langheld, and Annalyse Lynn.

Pallbearers were Bill Grissom, Freddy Murphy, Cliff Charrier, Paul McDonald, Gregg Pickens, and Lawrence Wynn. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Williams, Larry Williams, Gene Williams, Jamison Hatfield, Gage Peterson, Lester David, and Jeff Kennedy.
