Geraldine "Geri" Hill

Funeral services for Geraldine “Geri” Hill, 91, of Rayville, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Archibald, LA with Bro. Prentis Ray Gandy officiating. Interment was in Little Creek Cemetery, Archibald, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Geraldine was born February 28, 1934 in Mangham, LA and passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025 in Rayville, LA.

Geraldine was a member of Archibald First Baptist Church. She loved tending to her cows and cats for many years.     

She graduated from Mangham High School in 1954, where she played basketball and was named Most Athletic. As a young woman, she played in a women’s softball league and participated in a bowling league.

She worked for 27 years at Buccaneer Slacks in Rayville and 14 years as a security guard for the Richland Parish Food Stamp Program.

Geraldine was the last of thirteen children of Grover C. Hill and Mamie LaGrone Hill of Archibald, LA. She was preceded in death by her brothers, G.C. Hill, Jr., James Hill, Eugene Hill, Billy Hill, Tom Hill, Grant Hill, Dock Hill and sisters, Bernice H. Boydstun, Lona H. McDonald, Annie Bell H. Jones, Mozelle H. Bengtson, and Maxine H. Wiggins.

Survived by her several nieces and nephews and their families.

Pallbearers were her great nephews, Bill Poole, Pat McDonald, Barry Hill, Drew Hill, Lance Hill, Daniel Greer, Roy Wiggins, Jr., and Jonah Thomas.

The family would like to thank Mangham Home Care, Colonial Manor Nursing Home, and Premier Hospice for taking excellent care of her in recent years.
