Funeral services for Francis Ellen Ross were held at 10:00  AM, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Rayville, LA with Bro. Charles Ellzey and Bro. Johnny Hunt officiating. Interment followed in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Francis Ross, 87, died after a lengthy illness at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Rayville, LA July 4, 2021. She was surrounded by her children during her final hours on earth then taken home to be with Jesus.

Francis was born June 17, 1934 to John Middleton and Audrey Barnett Middleton. She married Clifton Leroy Ross and was married till his death in 1989. They were married 35 years and had 6 children.

Francis was better known as “Ms. Ross” or “Mamaw Ross” to the many kids she loved and provided child care for at her home and at church. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for over 50 years. Francis was a strong woman of Faith and passed this on to her children.

Francis is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Leroy Ross; son, David Ross; granddaughter, Staci Colvin; parents, Audrey and John Middleton, Sr.; sisters, Trudy Manning, Flora Moore, and Kay Whitehurst; and her brothers, Richard Barnett and John Middleton.

Survivors include her children, Audrey McKeithen and her children, Dana and husband, Shawn Talley and their daughter, Reagan; Navonda and husband, Elton Maxwell and their children, Sophia, John and Little Joe; Dennis and Morgan Smith and their children, Savanna Grace, Madison, Trey, Braxton, Waylon, Jace, and Hunt Leigh; Candy McKeithen, Joey McKeithen, and Timmy McKeithen; Betty and husband, Phil Albritton and their children, Autumn and husband, Peter Sangra and their children, Ross, Josiah King, and Olive Joy; Lauren and husband, Ben Wilhite and their children, Alyssa, Anniston, and Navy Grace; Edith Spencer and her children, April and husband, Johnny Hunt and their children, Gavin, Lexie Grace, and Gage; Alexis Shows and her children, Brady and Carter; Amber and Alani and their child, Kennah; Leroy and wife, Jan Ross and their children, Katherine and husband, Greg Dixon and their children, Garrison, Caroline, and Anderson; Tim and wife, Christie Colvin and their children, Christian, Isabel, and Jude; David Ross and his children, Victoria and husband, Justin Boren and their children, Parker, Riley, and Gabrielle; and Logan Ross; Elizabeth and husband, Michael Tarver and their son, Leroy Cox and his children, Shianna and Clifton; Sabrina and husband, Nathan Erwin and their children, Bethany, Matthew, and Jenna; Benjamin and wife, Hannah Cox and their children, Evan, Ariana, Allison, Gracie, and Aurora; Summer and husband, Cameron Stein and their children, Kinzlie and Carter; Michael and wife, Jamie Collins; Allison and Preston and their children, Alexa, Bailey, Mason, Madison, and David; her sister, Marg Etier.

Pallbearers were Leroy Cox, Benjamin Cox, Ross Albritton, Shawn Talley, Little Dennis Smith, and Logan Ross. Honorary pallbearers wiere Roy Cox, Elton Maxwell, Greg Dixon, Ben Wilhite, Peter Sangra, Tim Colvin, and Bennie Hicks.

Visitation was from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
