Funeral services for Evelyn Yvonne Brantley, 86, of Pioneer, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, in Epps, LA with Bro. Todd Perry officiating. Interment will be in the Brantley Cemetery, in Pioneer, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, in Oak Grove, LA.

Evelyn Yvonne Brantley, a beloved resident of Darnell, Louisiana, passed from this life on April 4, 2025. An active member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles, her parents, Euil and Opal McGee, and her siblings: sisters Loretta Stubbs and Bettye Lewis, and brothers Ellis, Ray, and Doug McGee.

She is survived by her cherished children: Kay (Greg) Chrisman, Brenda (Keith) Smith, Johnny (Regena) McMillan, and Tammy Mobley. Evelyn's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Courtney (Dusty) Fallin, Dusty McMillan, Ashton (Logan) Wallingsford, Christian (Elisabeth) Smith, Taylor and Tamara Mobley, Landon Chrisman, and Carson Smith. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Caden Ray and Raylee Fallin, Adalyn, Ridley, and Harper Smith, and Zayne and Evan Wallingsford; sister, Phyllis Duncan (Roy); brother, Ed McGee (Debbie); and sister-in-law, Karen McGee. 

For 27 years, Evelyn owned and operated Brantley's Grocery in Darnell, where she was known for her warmth and kindness. After retiring, she dedicated herself to caring for many children in her home daycare, all of whom affectionately called her "Mamaw."

Evelyn was renowned for her devout love of the Lord, which radiated through her life and her love for others. As an excellent homemaker, seamstress, and cook, she was particularly celebrated for her biscuit-making skills, a cherished memory for her grandchildren. Her hard work and dedication were evident in all she did, always striving to let the Lord's light shine through her.

Evelyn Yvonne Brantley will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched with her unwavering love and faith.

Pallbearers are John Pittman, Marshall Daniels, Wayne Brantley, Jr., Perry Brantley, David McGee, and Patrick McGee.

Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 9:00P.M., Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, in Epps, LA.
