Funeral services for Elsie Lee Grigsby Thomas, 88, of Rayville, LA were held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 31, 2021at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville with Bro. Paul Stephens and Bro. Bobby Stokes officiating. Interment followed in the Holly Ridge Baptist Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA.

Mrs. Elsie was born February 4, 1933 in Magazine, AR and passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 in West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Elsie was a member of the White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ, West Monroe, LA. She was married to Raymond Patrick Thomas on November 19, 1951, for 70 years, at the Rayville Church of Christ. She was the cafeteria manager at the Ouachita Christian School.  Mrs. Elsie is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Patrick Thomas; son, Patrick “Pat” Thomas; son-in-law, Marcus Mann; and grandson, Lucien Max Larche.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Chowns of West Monroe, Glenda Hurt and husband, Ivan of Adamsville, TN, and Brenda Mann of West Monroe; daughter-in-law, Deana Thomas of Choudrant; grandchildren, Gary Chowns, Kevin Chowns, Michelle Hurt Larche-Swan, Neal Mann, Christopher Mann, Sabrina Thomas Young, and Chad Patrick Thomas; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her grandsons and great grandsons.
