Obituary
Funeral service for Elam Stokes, 73, of Epps, LA will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Epps Baptist Church in Epps, LA with Bro. Eddie Fuller and Mike Prine officiating. Interment will be in the Epps Cemetery in Epps, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Oak Grove.
Mr. Elam was born on December 15, 1949 in Glenmora, LA and passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in Alexandria, LA. He was a member of Epps Baptist Church. He was the president of Dixie Youth baseball and was the first member of Oak Hill High school Hall of Fame. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Elvia Stokes; and brother, Charles Stokes.
Mr. Elam is survived by his wife, Glenda Prine Stokes of Epps, LA; son, Marc Stokes and wife, Mindy of Natchitoches, LA; daughter, Laci Stokes of Bossier City, LA; 4-grandchildren, Caroline, Connor, Catherine, and Bailey; and sister, Mary Lou NesSmith of Calcasieu, LA.
Pallbearers are Connor Stokes, Matt Prine, Cole Prine, Jason Smith, Russell NesSmith, Josh NesSmith, Charles Johnston, and Billy Wilhite.
Honorary pallbearers are Dennis LaBatt, Greg Smith, Doug Ed Fairchild, David McVay, Jeff Guice, and Billy Gibson.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Epps Baptist Church, Epps, LA.
