Edith Ann Montgomery Hogg Obituary

Edith Ann Montgomery Hogg of Delhi, LA passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 in West Monroe, LA. She was born on November 20, 1939 in Dawson County Texas. Ann Was the daughter of Perry and Lois Montgomery and the youngest of five children.

Ann was a selfless daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother who gave all to those she loved. Ann married Dell Hogg on February 14, 1959. In 1965 their family moved to Rayville, LA. In 1968 the family moved to the Holly Ridge/Mengel Road community where they raised their children and enjoyed years of fun with many great neighbors and friends.

They later moved to the Delhi area where they spent their retirement years and where she continued to serve the community at the Miles-Hanna House. She enjoyed reaching out to the elderly and shut-in residents of the Delhi Community by phone and loved to talk to them on a regular basis.

Ann was a member of Rayville First Baptist Church. Her hobbies were mainly serving others. She enjoyed playing the piano and filled in for others when and wherever needed. Mostly she was involved in the lives of her children and community as a Den Mother, and Sunday School, Training Union, and Bible School leader.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Dell Hogg, son, Jackie Don Hogg and grandson, Tristan Ezell. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Beth Brewer, and brothers, Donald Montgomery, Johnny Montgomery, and Preston Montgomery.

Ann is survived by children, Monty (Sonya) Hogg, Kelly (Sandra) Hogg, and D’Ann (Gary) Ezell. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Monica (Dusty) Abercrombie, Morgan (L.E.) Freeland, Megan (Josh) Williams, Carly (Jamin) Rankin, Anna Kate (John) Morgan, Maddie Hogg, Betsy (Harrison) McCaslin, Ty Hogg, Levi Ezell, and Preston Ezell along with twelve great grandchildren.

Visitation was from 1:30 PM till 2:45 PM, Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Lamar Baptist Church in Delhi with a graveside service followed at 3:00 PM, at Lamar Cemetery with Russell Caldwell officiating. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the West Monroe Guest House, the staff at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, Rayville First Baptist Church, and Lamar Baptist Church. Also, love and thanks go out to the many family and friends who have reached out to the Hogg family during this time.
