Dorthy M. (Nelson) Woodward

Funeral services for Dorthy M. Woodward, 62, of Epps, LA were held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Bro. Anthony Stewart,  Bro. Ron Garrett, and Bro. Roger Temple officiating. Interment was in the McKnight Cemetery, Holly Ridge, LA.

Mrs. Dorthy was born June 21, 1959 in Sublette, KS and passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 in West Monroe, LA after a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Juanita Nelson; and sisters, Debbie Nielsen and Wanda Boren.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Herschel Woodward of Epps; children, Richard Woodward and fiancée, Alison of West Monroe and Brittney Holley and husband, Will of Rayville; sister, Margaret Nicholson and husband, James of West Monroe; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Willie Ray Nielson, Guthrie Nielsen, Nick Nielsen, Randy Parker, Rick McAdams, Bryan Jones, and Cody Freeland.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Brown-Holley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 812, Rayville, LA 71269.

Visitation was from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Saturday at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA.
