Graveside services for Donald “Papa” Olivo, 73, of Start, LA were held at 12:30 PM, Friday, September 12, 2025 at Start Cemetery, Start, LA with Bro. Bill Lewis officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Donald was born July 13, 1952 in Monroe, LA and passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 in Monroe, LA.
Donald spent most of his life farming. He loved fishing, especially running yo-yos on Clear Lake. Also, he loved watching the squirrels and humming birds in his yard and watching westerns on television, especially with Matt Dillon in the show. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Beatrice Olivo; and granddaughter, Kassidy Edwards.
Survivors include his children, Donna Edwards (Sheldon) of Monroe, LA, Dianna Southall (Casey) of Bee Bayou, LA, and Dakota Olivo (Ashley) of Osawatomie, KS; grandchildren, Alyssa Landrum-Fuller (Luke), Carly Southall, Christian Olivo, Lydia Olivo, Morgan Olivo, and Jaxon Olivo; siblings, Ronald Olivo (Dianne), John Elkins (Nancy), Lester “Flint” Olivo, Linda Houston (Tony), and Debbie Newman (Randall); and numerous nieces and nephews
Pallbearers were Dakota Olivo, Casey Southall, Sheldon Edwards, Brandon Olivo, Kevin Elkins, and Danny Pritchard.
