Darvin Rieger passed from earth to Glory on Monday, September 4, 2023. His homegoing service was held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 7, 2023 at First United Pentecostal Church, Rayville, LA with Pastor Stacey Thomas and Bishop Robert Stroud officiating. Interment was in the Start Cemetery, Start, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonie and John Paul Rieger, Sr.; and sisters, Evelyn Long, Marie “Tincy” Woodall, and Vada Wilkerson.
Survivors include his children, Terry V. Rieger and wife, Dee of Swartz, LA, Jackie Nored and husband, Terry of Start, LA, Sandy DeFir of Richmond, VA, and Kevin R. Rieger of Hot Springs Village, AR; grandchildren, Robert V. Rieger, TerryLynn Rieger, John A. Rieger, Amber DeFir, Kevin B. DeFir, Elizabeth DeFir, David DeFir, Tyler Nored, Chelsea Nored, Savannah R. Rieger, and Ethan W. Rieger; 19-great grandchildren; siblings, John Paul Rieger and wife, Loudell, Jane Bryan, Dale Rieger, Marvin Rieger and wife, Doris; numerous nieces and nephews; and his fur baby, Sweetpea.
Pallbearers were Robert Rieger, TerryLynn Rieger, Kevin B. DeFir, David DeFir, Tyler Nored, and Ethan Rieger. Honorary pallbearer was John A. Rieger.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at the First United Pentecostal Church, Rayville, LA.
