Funeral services for Claude Lavell Borden, 83, of Monroe, LA were held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA. Interment followed in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Lavell was born June 6, 1937 in Pioneer, LA and passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Lavell is preceded in death by his parents, Prentes Martin Borden and Jewell Greer; and his brothers, Charles Wayne Borden and Martin Borden, Jr. He was veteran with the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Irma P. Cumpton Borden of Monroe; daughter, Donniel Hooter and husband, Joseph Eric of Monroe; granddaughter, Magan B. McNeill and husband, Brendan; bonus granddaughter, Audrey Nelson and husband, Aaron and bonus great grandson, Joseph Nelson; sister, Mary Ann Harris; and his brothers, Robert Eugene Borden and Randy Borden and wife, Gail; and his numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Johnny Wayne Bradford, Sam Bradford, Scott Smith, Jacob Smith, Randy Waggoner, and R.J. Lux. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Wright, Melvin Crawford, and Bob Marble.
