A memorial visitation and celebration honoring the life of Charles Edward Hixon, Jr. will be held at the Warsaw Baptist, Delhi, LA on Saturday, June 17, 2023 with Jimmy Pelley, Marion Collier, and Gary Ezell officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM with celebration to follow at 1:30 PM.
Mr. Charlie was born April 20, 1942 in Delhi, LA and passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in Rayville, LA. Mr. Charlie “Pop” was a member of Warsaw Baptist Church, Delhi, LA. He was an old school cowboy that loved life and lived it to the fullest with a smile. He owned Hixon Farm Service and was a successful crop insurance agent. He had many hobbies that included photography, wood carving and furniture building, cooking, hunting, and anything sports related. The thing he loved the most was his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marguerite Hixon; in-laws, B.E. and Annie Mae Pickett; sister, Helen Jane York; brother, Jim Hixon; favorite horse, Cowboy; and favorite dog, Kicker.
Survivors include the love of his life his wife of 62 years, Annie Ruth Hixon; sons, Chuck Hixon and wife, Lisa and Chip Hixon and wife, Kristy; grandchildren, Mason Hixon and wife, Ginny; Sarah Pender and husband, Garret; Cody Hixon and wife, Anna; Taylor Wells and husband, Tyler; great grandchildren, Liddy Mae Pender; Henry Charles Hixon; Charlie Hart Pender; sister, Brenda Whistler; brother, Joey Hixon and wife, Kelly; brother-in-law, B.E. Pickett and wife, Zoe; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kevin Carlisle and the nursing staff at Richardson Medical Center for the special care for Pop.
