Carl W. Hines

Memorial service for Carl W. Hines, age 91, of Pioneer, LA will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 26, 2021 at Brown-Holley Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove, LA with Bro. Gary Wolfe officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Oak Grove, LA. 

Mr. Carl passed away on December 20, 2020 at his home in Pioneer, LA. He was born on January 21, 1929 in Start, LA, to Ben and Wreathia Hines. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ethel White, and his brother, Clifton Hines.

Mr. Carl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Allene Hines; his daughter, Jan Webb and husband, Ralph; his son, Carl “Buck” Hines and wife, Judy; and his daughter, Ellen Hines; his granddaughter, Carla Sibille and husband, Lyle; his grandson, Kyle Hines and wife, Jill; and his granddaughter, Sarah Eich. He was also blessed with 4-great grandchildren; Jimmy and Josie, Sibille and Weslee Ann, and Bennett Hines.

Mr. Carl was a decorated veteran of the Korean War and received the Purple Heart after being wounded 3 times. He was a welder and fabricator and spent his life as a pipe liner working all over the world.

Mr. Carl had many friends from many walks of life, and held a great fondness for all of them. The Hines family would especially like to thank Dr. Creighton Chandler, Dr. Michael Sampognaro, and all of the wonderful nurses and helpers from Elara Caring Hospice.
