Bryan Eric Schoonover, better known as “Brownie”. He was born in Houston, TX on April 16, 1960 to Eugene and Betty Schoonover. Bryan spent his childhood in Delhi, LA and as much time as he possibly could in the Piney Woods at his grandmother’s house. Brownie gradated high school in 1979 from Delhi High School. Bryan proudly served his country as a Corporal in in the United States Marine Corps. He was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church. Bryan was an extremely hard worker and provider for his family. He spent many years offshore and on the pipeline. Brownie was and avid outdoorsman, his favorite things to do were to hunt and fish. He shared his love for the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. He somehow found a way to turn his outdoor hobbies into indoor hobbies and began tying his on flies for fishing and reloading his on Amo for hunting. Bryan loved to garden and share what he could with his family and friends. He loved to tend to and spoil his large flock of chickens. His chickens are why the grandkids started calling him Bok-Bok or Grandaddy Bok-Bok. Brownie loved his family and friends very much and in all that he did it showed. Of all the things Bryan loved he loved the Lord most of all. He remained a good and faithful servant of the Lord throughout all of his many life’s trials. Bryan was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He passed from this life at his home in the Piney Woods on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 63 years old.
