Funeral services for Bobby “Joe” Chapman, 75, were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Mangham United Methodist Church, Mangham, LA with Bro. Jimmy Wilkens and Bro. William Waller officiating. Interment followed in the Little Creek Cemetery, Archibald, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Joe was born August 22, 1945 in Archibald, LA and passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Monroe, LA. Mr. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Joe “Bob” Chapman and Margaret Evelyn “Bobbie” Chapman.

Joe was a member of the Mangham United Methodist Church. He was a Junior High School Teacher, Principle, and Coach for 36 years. He was very active in his church serving as a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the church choir. Mr. Joe was a member of the W.M. Baker Masonic Lodge in Mangham, LA and the Barak Shriners in Monroe, LA.

Joe was named “Middle School Principal of the Year” for Richland Parish and Region 8 for the 2000 - 2001 school year. He was honored for dedicated leadership in public education in January, 2021. He coached football and basketball at Mangham Jr - High School for several years. He also served as president of the Richland Gin Company and the Richland Gin Supply Company for several years. Joe served on the Richland Parish School Board from 2011 until the present time.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Sandra “Sandy” Chapman; daughter Shonda Bazer and husband Robert; grandchildren Jessie Madison Bazer and Robert Chapman Bazer; sisters Delores Danley and husband Mike, and Terri White and husband Doug; and his honorary brother Robert Fobbs.

Pallbearers were Tommy Pailette, Tim Fife, Billy Joe White, Joel Williams, Bubba Bell, Robert Lewis Boughton, Joey Williams, and Marlin Jordan. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Mullins, Norman Bennett, Robert Smith, Robert Fobbs, and Jack Deere.
