Funeral services for Billy J. Mercer, Sr., 84, of Winnsboro, LA were held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Lone Cherry Baptist Church, Mangham, LA with Bro. Doyle Adams and Bro. Caleb Parks officiating. Interment was in the Lone Cherry Cemetery, Mangham, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Billy was born July 24, 1939 in Mangham, LA and passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in Winnsboro, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, JoAnn Mercer; parents, John and Evelyn Mercer; grandson, Cody Mercer; sister, Darlene Williams; and brother-in-law, Benny Lee Williams.

Survivors include his children, Sherry Smith and husband, Frank of Mangham, LA, Billy Joe Mercer, Jr. and wife, Cassie of Mangham, LA, and Glen Wayne Mercer and wife, Gayle of Holly Ridge, LA; 10-grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Maxine Free, Anne Everard and husband, Robert, and Claude Mercer and wife, Carolyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Guy Pardue, Marcus Doresy, Mark Graham, Johnny Roy Lambert, Frank Smith, Jr., and Trent Mercer.
