Billy Newsom, 89, of Rayville, LA was born July 30, 1933 in Delhi, LA and passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Rayville, LA. Memorial services were held at 1:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2023 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Bro. Johnny Hoychick officiating. Interment will be in the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA.

Mr. Billy was a veteran with the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie and Ina Gilmore Newsom; and sister, Dena Fay King.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Annette Newsom of Rayville, LA; sons, Stacy Newsom of Monroe, LA and Robert Newsom of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Daniel Newsom and wife, Bek, Rachel Ramsey, Mary-Catherine Newsom, David Newsom and wife, Alicia, Jonathan Newsom, and Nathan Newsom; great grandchildren, Madelyn Ramsey, Brody Ramsey, Chap Newsom, Taylor Newsom, Carter Heine, and Jackson Heine; brother, Kenneth E. “Shug” Newsom; sisters, Lilwin Norman and Frankie Wilkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews
