Funeral services for Betty Jean Bradshaw Evans, 89, of Monroe, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Monroe, LA with Bro. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park, Monroe, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Betty was born in Rayville, LA on December 18, 1935 and passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 in Monroe, LA.

Betty was a graduate of Rayville High School and Bish Mathis Business Institute. She was a retiree of the City of Monroe and Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Department. The love of her life was her family and her church. Betty was happiest when she was serving or doing something for others. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where she served as Church Clerk and Sunday School teacher for many years. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Oscar Evans; daughter, Debbie Evans Thornhill; parents, Cletus Clevon and Lonie McCullough Bradshaw; stepmother, Nettie Wiggins Bradshaw; sisters, Louise Munholland, Mary Jane Copeland, Linda Cooper Mock, Thelma Gill, Kathleen Eager, and Louginia Glass; and brothers, Thomas Bradshaw and Donald Bradshaw.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan Lenard and husband, Steven; son-in-law, Joe Thornhill; grandchildren, Blake Thornhill and wife, Sarah, Ashley Collins and husband, Thomas, Tal Lenard, and Ethan Lenard; great grandchildren, Isla and Levi Thornhill; sisters, Janette Bischel and Annette Guimbellot; brothers, Willis “Buddy” Bradshaw and John Bradshaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Blake Cooper, Chris Patrick, Ryan Bichsel, Larry Plummer, Gavin Cureington, and Clavin Curelington.

Honorary pallbearer was Todd Hughes.
