Funeral services for Ben David Mullins, 49, of Rayville, LA were held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Brown-Holley Funeral Chapel, Rayville, LA with Bro. John Cleveland officiating. Interment was in the Rayville Masonic Cemetery, Rayville, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Ben was born December 28, 1974 at the Rayville Hospital and passed away suddenly from a blood clot Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Richardson Medical Center, Rayville, LA.
Ben was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Katie Mullins and Ben and Lucille Johnson; uncles and aunts, Jack Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Dorothy Pope, Jack Mullins, and Tuni Mullins.
Ben has fought for life ever since the day he was born and the Lord gave him life. The doctors first said he would be like a vegetable, then that he may not live past 5-years and then he wouldn’t walk. The Lord had other plans for Ben and together, they defied those doctors. One doctor told us that they were not the reason Ben was able to do a lot of things, he had healing from above. Ben loved to sing and listen to music. He enjoyed watching wrestling and playing his CD’s especially The Dukes of Hazzard. He was fortunate to meet John “Bo” Schneider and Ben “Cooter” Jones and even seat in “The General Lee”. Ben’s side-by-side was his prize possession and he wanted his mother to get stuck so he could be the wrecker service. Ben loved people and they loved him.
Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Janice Mullins; brothers, Bobby Jack and wife, Susie and James Todd and wife, Debbie; half-sister, Teresa Stewart; nieces and nephews, Sarah Mullins, Katie Landreneau and husband, Aaron, Lee Mullins and wife, Beth Ann, and Josie Mullins; Ben had numerous step- and half-nieces, nephews, and one great niece, Sadie Landreneau; and first cousin, Ben Johnson.
Pallbearers were Talmadge Deere, Stevie Gray, Tracey Prewitt, Chris Pruitt, Frank Smith, and Buddy Tyler. Honorary pallbearers were Norman Bennett, Jerry Crawford, Gene DeWitt, Jackie Fuller, and Johnny “Booger” Howard.
