Barbara Dear Lord

Barbara Dear Lord, 72, was born January 24, 1953 in Rayville, LA and passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 in Columbia, LA surrounded by her family.

Barbara worked for the Richland Parish Detention Center until she retired. She loved to fish and go crabbing. She made many beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Earl and Dorothy “Dot” Dear; her son, Jeremy Scott Stovall; and her brothers, Earl and Eddie Dear. 

She is survived by her husband, Marvin “Mel” Lord; two daughters, Mickey Adams and Rachael Lebeaux Adcox. Her brother, Glenn Dear and wife, Katie; her sister, Martha Garrison and husband, Benny. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
