Amanda Michelle McDaniel, 44, of West Monroe, LA, was born December 31, 1980, in Winnsboro and passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on September 14, 2025, at her home.
Amanda loved life and the people around her. She had a special bond with her mom, who was the love of her life, and she adored her brothers and her Poppa. She enjoyed watching the Saints play football, cheering at Monroe Moccasins games, and especially rooting for Seth Bacon. Hockey games, football games, game shows and eating chicken and dumplings were some of her favorite things.
She loved music from Adele, Maroon 5, and Blake Shelton, and she always looked forward to fireworks on her New Year’s Eve birthday. Amanda’s laugh was big and contagious—it filled the room and brought joy to everyone. Anyone who knew Amanda knew she was strong-willed and full of fire. That showed up in more than just her personality—she had a powerful left arm and was known to be a heavy hitter.
Amanda is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roy and Lela Faye Evans of Rayville, and her paternal grandparents, Steve and Alice McDaniel of Baskin.
She is survived by her mother, Myra McDaniel of West Monroe; brothers Jamey McDaniel and wife Renee of West Monroe, William McDaniel and wife Jennifer of Pearl, MS, and Danny Jones, Jr. of Memphis, TN; sister Ollie May Carr and children Issac, Elijah, and Kingston of West Monroe; nephew Chris McDaniel and wife Hannah and children Blaze and Myles of Monroe; her second mom and caregiver of 20 years, Glenda Weeks-Hilliard; family friend Cheryl Walker of Delhi; and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Weeks, Jarrell Weeks, Robert Weeks, Jonathan Weeks, and Isaac Jones, Sr.
The family would like to thank her longtime caregiver and friend Gwendolyn Weeks, along with People Unlimited, Express Medical, Second Chances Dayhab, and her doctors: Dr. Pena, Dr. Morgan, Dr. Moma, Dr. Patel, and Dr. Sadiq.
Amanda will be remembered for her laughter and the love she gave so freely. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her
