Maretta Faye Hill

OAK GROVE – On Monday, September 2, 2019, Maretta Faye Smith Hill, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 78 at West Carroll Care Center. 

Maretta was born October 3, 1940 in Vilonia, Arkansas to Rev. Dermott and Myrtle Smith. The eleventh of thirteen Maretta lived a lifetime of fun, family, and faith. Her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the foundation for all she did in life. From her marriage to Reginald Hill August 10, 1962, to raising their only child Victoria, Maretta’s faith and trust in God was unwavering. She was a member of Lanes Ferry Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Reginald, her parents, Dermott & Myrtle, her brothers Dee, Shorty, Doolan, Thurlan, Coburn, and Jvan Smith and sisters Carolyn Bridges and Cloreda Eakin. She is survived by her daughter Victoria and husband Steve Franks, grandchildren Ariana, Evan, and Mackenzie Franks, brothers Harrell, and Bill Smith, sisters Geretta Guyton and Marilyn Sparks (Albert) as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Viewing will be Friday, September 6 from 6pm to 8 pm at Brown-Holley Funeral Home, in Oak Grove, LA. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 7 at 11am at Lanes Ferry Baptist Church, in Oak Grove, LA with Bro. Steve Franks and Bro. Mike Ray officiating. There will be a graveside service Sunday, September 8 at 3pm at Big Springs Cemetery, in Newnata, ARK under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, in Oak Grove, LA.

Pallbearers will be Michael Yee, Ryan Yee, Brad Smith, Greg Smith, Ulous Smith, Jr., Wendell Bridges, Evan Franks and Rusty Bennett.
